4) Bleeding ABS with Tech 2
I have a tech 2 clone but I have a ’96 and it only has the 3 sensor 4wal. On this there is no countdown or cycling of the ignition, as long as it is on with engine off, after the warnings it establishes communication and then says depress the pedal and it cycles the ABS about 4 times.
BTW this is a good resource for Tech2 paths. It’s all paths though even more than available for your truck but you could probably reduce this down if needed.
Also, if I can get to that screen just scrolling through function sitting at my desk then that means no communication is occurring to this point. So i would go and use the function to pull the VIN or something just to make sure you do have communication from the unit and through the DLC connector to the truck.
ABS Bleed with GM Tech2 Scan tool
Vident iLink400 is more suitable for the DIYers , since it is easy to use, cheap and allow users to add one more car diagnostic software as needed.
GM Tech 2 is more suitable for the professional users, which has key programming and SPS programming functions.
1.mine works on K-line but CAN does not work, as soon as connection with can bus is established the voltage level on the bus drops to near zero and the rest of the data traffic is blocked – the “start communication ” and “tester Present” messages are sent ok but there is no response from the other can nodes due to a blocked can bus.
As soon as i disconnect (in the software) the normal can bus data traffic is restored with normal signal level.
I suspect a faulty can transceiver but i’m awaiting a reply from the seller…
well today my supplier’s engineer connected with Teamviewer and started by opening Renault software , after that my Fiat software came to life after i did numerous previous attempts to get it running….
They say they did not change anything which is strange but for now the Fiat software is working on CAN – not always opening at the first attempt but at least it runs which is better as before the engineer’s check…..
The tool works without internet connection although it shows updating of the remaining days at connection but when connecting with the interface it still shows 0 days remaining but it still connects.
i hope the tool will keep working for a longer period….
2.I ordered one. I had FVDI 2014 and 2015 before. This 2018 version has the same software versions as the 2015 version except that has updated software for VAG and BMW/Mini which is from the VVDI software. IMMO 4 and 5 key programming is working. Only tested on 2012 Scirocco 2.0 TSi and 2014 Audi A5 2.0T.
Mercedes software still has bugs for odometer correction. W204 did not work.
Overall it is good value for money.
Just get today the fvdi2018, installed it on my pc – windows 7 64 bit, works fine with no problems. Then get my lapton – windows 7 64 bit and done the installation on it, plug it to the laptop and now the device after connecting to the server showing info that the “device has been deactived”. Then connected fvdi again to my pc and all works fine. Magic
Will try to reinstall windows on my laptop …
OK, now everything is working fine, did not checked it with the any car yet, but all softs, as well as vvdi2 opening fine. there is no errors etc.
All problems cos of usb drivers and soft that was sent with fvdi from China. After dowloading new soft 4.2 and FTDI drivers from webpage everything work as it should.
Will try to connect fvdi to some cars and check how is it going in the “field”.

2003 fiat doblo 1.9 jtd – pin code – did not pulled out the pin !!
2006 BMW e90 330i – try to do cas by obd2 – killed synchronisation cas – elv !! . Vvdi2 done the synchronisation and fix the problem . Car starts and drives again. So do not even try to connect to cas by obd with fvdi2018 !!
2009 ford Mondeo 2.0 tdci – try to program all key lost – get all the time pats error.
Then, try to change milage just for fun . It works fine.

2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK 3.0 crd – pulled pin code with no problem.
2009 Chevrolet cruze 2.0 vcdi – pulled pin code with no problem / milage change no problem.
2004 Opel Combo C Z16SE engine – pulled pin code with no problem, but on V5.8 soft , on V6.6 soft – connection error
2005 Audi A3 8P 1.9 TDI, immo on/off – no problem . CS and pin from dash – no problem , add key – no problem , milage change in dash and ecu – no problem .
VVDI2 – pin and CS from dash – connection error , Pin code from ECU, mileage change in ecu –ok but need to select ECU version manually .
Passat B6 Comfort module dump – VVdi2 – pin code and 7 byte CS – no problem, FVDI2018 – pin code ok, 7 byte CS only if you have 6 byte from ECU first.
So now, the fvdi antena is reading id48 chip, but signal is very low. The chip needs to stay at the antena ring , not in the middle of antena.
Found out that it’s an old problem, and this may help… will try later this week.
For today , will check if tag tool will make TP25 from id48 chip.
The same for vvdi2 antena, cos for now did not check it.

fvdi2018 – dash -read pin, change milage, change immo mode – done ok, but you need to try couple of times, sometimes even 10 times before will do anything ! , cos you can get connection error !
ecu – read pin and CS – ok no problem,
Dealer key – not ok, write immo chip but wrong CS data,
add new key – done it ok after pre programming immo CS chip by carprog
So after reading dash , you need to change immo status from 0 to 6 manually. if you will not do it the dash will stay in service mode .

2007 Citroen C4 picassso 2.0 16v petrol with Johnson Controls BSI
fvdi2018 soft V6.7 – read pin from bsi – ok no problem , programm new key – ok no problem
I done it by connecting another running car to the citroen’s battery, like that battery voltage in bsi was about 13.5v all the time and citroen did not put bsi to economy mode.
The battery in citroen needs to be full charged as well ! At the time of bsi reading by fvdi car will turn on headlights and wipers !!
From the above information, we may can see that the FVDI 2018 review has something good and also unavailable one. Of course, every tool will have such situation. Mixed reputation is normal, just need to check all details and order the tool depends on each one’s requirements.
Generally specking, if you can accept some existing issues and try to solve it, then everything will be fine.
Well, risking a $10k transmission is a daring feat when mixing different code with different models. We would never have made it to the moon if we didn’t take the risk. I promise, you will be as excited as I was when I saw the console say S-Sport for the first time and you will feel like it must be tested out. Always, be careful not to get hurt while driving. Please take care of yourself and your vehicle.
Below, will be a step by step process on how to modify your Mitsubishi MUT 3 to have S-sport mode and Launch control. S-Sport mode enables your vehicle to use your cars true potential by switching gears at higher rev points vs Sport and normal mode. Launch control typically refers to an electronic aid which is used to assist the drivers of various motorsports at the start of a race. As far as we know, this will work on all 2009+ ralliarts.
WARNING: If your vehicle breaks, dies, or anything that can cost maintenance I will not take responsibility for it. I am simply giving you a guide to use at your own risk.
NOTES: Your current ECU tune does not matter in the TCU reprogramming. You can have stock, custom GST basemap, or anything you choose and you will still get S-sport mode in the reprogramming.
Please make sure to:
-Have your cars battery fully charged. If you worry about your battery dying, hook it up to a charger while performing the reprogram.
–MUT3/MEDIC 3 unit at full power.
-No faulty wires that can be bumped that can lose a connection
-Working CD-ROM drive.
-Updated MUT3. The one I used was version 3.2 update 142
If any of the above fail, you will have a damaged vehicle while reprogramming. Don’t be scared just be prepared.
Step 1 – Getting the file
-First things first download the TCU file, which is for 2009-2010 Ralliarts: 8631B001.cff (http://www.2shared.com/file/Fkz67QCU/8631B001.html)
UPDATE: For 2011+ Ralliarts download and use this file 8631B151.cff(http://www.2shared.com/file/QADp5R_9/8631B151.html)
-Burn that single file to a CD-ROM
Step 2 – Connecting
-Connect the MUT III VCI to your OBD2 port and turn your car to ON, but do not start it.
Step 3 – VIN setup
-Set your Vehicle VIN# via the button bottom right of the screen. This is to tell MEDIC 3 which car it is working with.
Step 4 – Programming
Before you even get to this step you need to have the CD with the file 8631B001.cff ready to go.
-Insert the CD
-Go to the “MENU” tab > click “SPECIAL FUNCTION” > click “ECU PROGRAMMING” > click “AUTOMATIC REPROGRAMMING (CAN)” > click “AT/CVT/A-T/TC-SST”
–MEDIC 3 will now check for an update > click the check mark.
-Next box will pop up indicating UNNECESSARY REPROGRAMMING from here you need to click the load icon which is to the right of the check mark.
-A list of *.cff files should pop up. We don’t want to use any of the files listed (TBA for all regions and models), we want to use the one from our CD.
-Click on the folder button at the bottom right > click on “COMPACT DISC” and then click the folder icon again. (This might take time as it needs to read the CD, give it a moment). A check mark will pop up next to the folder. Click that to start the reprogramming!
Step 5 – Wait
-The reprogramming will take 2-5 minutes so make sure to keep the radio off, fans off, etc. To conserve battery life. During the reprogramming it will be just like a reflash. Bells and whistles will be firing off. This is normal. Be patient for the programming to finish once it reaches 100%. It will have a slow start, but pick up after that.
-Once it reaches 100%, the car will finalize the reprogram and say “COMPLETED“.
Congrats your car now has been reprogrammed and has S-sport mode and Launch Control. “Crak Mode” completed.

Since this is all so new, a lot of potential can come from this. So, please post your year and mods and tunes so see what results come from all of this.
Also, I want to note for everyone that has this and has the rev hunting. I did some logs of clutch slip on a normal drive and it slips between -1 and 1. When the rev hunting happens the clutch slips around 50. I do not know the units of the values but I assume that the 50 is enough to make the rpms bounce. I am no mechanical expert but I would assume that a) clutch slip is bad because it wears out a clutch and there should be no slip. and b) rpm bouncing is not a good thing to engines timing chain because of the pull n push of the rpms bouncing.
In conclusion, s-sport mode has a price. You WILL get instance clutch grabbing for your gears and launch control, but the catch is to avoid 6th gears rev hunt between 1800-2000 rpm.
The stock file for 2009-2010 RA is 8631B002.cff if you want to change back. The 2011+ file 8631B152.cff to return back to stock. Good luck folks.

If you are restoring to a virtual machine,simply mount the iso on the virtual machine.
If the screen gets stuck at this command prompt,simply close the prompt
Click restore and then click the path button.Select the backup file(adi.file) and click on next.
The program detects the selected backup is a system image,would you like to do a system restore?
Make sure this box is checked
Select the drive into which you want to restore the image and click next
Make sure that the “enable universal restore” box is checked,so that the system can boot on your laptop.
If you are restoring the image to a virtual machine,you can leave this option unchecked.
Make sure that on unallocated space remains at the end of the partition
Next,click “OK” and then click “Start Restore”
After restoring and booting into the system,install drivers and imprint the texter with the method of your choosing.Turbofans method can be found in the following folder.
Restore Porsche PIWIS II Universal Image to VM:
1.Create two virtual hard drives – lets say – VHD-A and VHD-B;VHD-A will be the main VHD of your VM into which you are restoring the image.
VHD-B is just a temporary VHD to hold the image file for restore
2. Copy the image file (.adi file) into VHD-B
3. Attach both VHD-A and VHD-B to the VM
4. In the VMs CD drive, mount the recovery disc iso
5. Start the VM and boot into the recovery CD
6. Follow the instructions given in the archive to restore the image
7. After image finish restoring, turn off the VM and detach VHD-B and unmount the recovery disc iso from the VM
8. Start the VM – after it finish initializing, install guest additions.
9. Done – you can delete VHD-B from your system
Theoretically this image should be able to restore and boot into any laptop which supports Windows XP (hopefully no BSOD on booting). Also you can restore it to a Virtual Machine
My aim with this image was to create an Porsche Piwis3 image that anyone can restore and use without any difficulty.
This image might be more suited to someone restoring it to a laptop other than a Panasonic CF-30 as I have removed all the Panasonic drivers. You can restore it to a CF-30, just need to reinstall / restore all the drivers
Easiest method to re-install drivers – In the laptop you are planning to restore the image -> If you are already running Win XP in that laptop, use software called “Double Driver” to backup all the drivers. After restoring the PIWIS image, restore the drivers – hardly take 5-10 min for complete driver restore and it’s all one-click operation.
The GM MDI is the Global Diagnostic tool for future vehicles starting with Global A vehicles. It’s a compact communication module that manages the transfer of data between a vehicle’s onboard ECU network with an auxiliary CAN bus.
The GM MDI was introduced in the fall of 2007 for Pass-Thru programming and offers faster programming speed using J2534. Depending on vehicle architecture, the MDI can communicate 20% to 70% faster than the Tech 2. It can be used to perform Pass-Thru programming on all vehicles built since 1996 and into the future. Please note that there are other J2534 VCIs (vehicle communication interface) that will perform MDI functions utilizing GDS2 software.
Servicing the next generation Global A vehicles requires the diagnostic software, GDS2 (Global Diagnostic System 2) running on a local PC device while the MDI is connected to the vehicle.
The MDI connects to the vehicle via the J1962 connector using a DLC cable. Connection between the MDI and the PC can be accomplished via standalone (USB) or through (CAT5, or Wireless) networks.
