Power cycle the MDI. If error light stays on, perform a software recovery procedure. After the software recovery procedure has been executed, the GM MDI Scan Tool should pass the POST and the error LED should be off. If the MDI error LED is still on contact your customer support center. The MDI must be connected using USB and the latest version of MDI firmware must be installed before usage.

The MDI automatically powers up when power is applied to the DLC or the AC adapter, the MDI will not power up on battery power alone. If the MDI was powered down manually then the MDI will need to be powered up manually by pressing the ON/OFF button.

So right up here, you can see us 55 45 so he’s trying to climb up a little bit even though this is staying at the same here.  I mean I can’t see anything out of the Autel Scan Tool here,  I think what I’m going to do is we’re going to take a look closer look at this final air control ground even though we can’t see anything like it just jumps out at us .

I own a Durametric. I haven’t used it in about a year – since I got the ICARSCAN.

ICarScan is much easier to use than the Durametric since it works with my Android smartphone, no need to boot up a computer and plug it into the computer. It connects via Bluetooth to the phone. I carry it in the Cayenne since it’s tiny and can be used anytime I have my phone along (about 100% of the time.) So far I haven’t found anything I can’t do with it that could be done with the Porsche PWIS. Doesn’t mean there isn’t – but I haven’t found it yet. It resets all the different service reminders. Resets adaptatations. Reads out real-time values and can plot them. Can read and clear codes stored in any of the vehicle modules.

DISCLAIMER: I get nothing for posting this except hoping to encourage the company to continue producing it, since that means there will be software updates for the one I already own. I like it. I think it’s good value. YMMV – but I don’t think so.

ADDITIONAL INFO: (05/05/17) People have reported that the iOS application apparently is difficult to impossible to get working. Before buying it – if all you have is an iPhone – I’d suggest reading the thread and talking to some of the people who have tried it on iOS. Other people have mentioned success or difficulty getting the Android application working. I suspect part of the problem is the number of versions of Android on the user market. If you’re using an Android phone, or tablet – Launch X431 might be worth checking or asking who got it working with what. I also should note – it appears I’m running an earlier version of the software on my Android phone (Droid-Turbo-II) and tablet (Verizon Ellipsis-7). I have not tried downloading the new version since I don’t like to muck about with a working thing. Again – check and ask people what works if you have a concern. My final warning – communications with the vendor are almost non-existent. When I first got mine (about a year ago) I emailed them about a problem getting it to install on my tablet (which apparently isn’t listed as compatible with the software at the Google store) – and got a few brief replies. Since then – I’ve emailed asking about renewing my subscription – and have gotten no answer. Despite my “subscription” expiring – the software I originally downloaded (5 vehicle brands and the other free stuff) continues to work. It has also updated the firmware on my dongle despite my subscription being expired. What I have not done is open the store feature of it to see if there is a subscription renewal option there. I may do that sometime. Or not. Right now – it’s working fine for me.

So a little bit of feedback on the truck. it’s a 2007 GMC 1500 HD classic and just bought it recently notice halfway home when I was towing something it was shifting a little bit hard I wasn’t getting any coats, so I decided to put in some seafoam trans stuff and shortly after that I started noticing that I wasn’t getting a torque converter lockup. Then I was also throwing the p08 9 for code so I bought a Car Scanner-

I’m just doing a little bit of testing right. now I’m just going to get up to speed here in third gear. I’m gonna see what the duty cycle is on torque converter clutch solenoid you can see we’ve already throw in one slip counter okay there’s 100 kilometres an hour see that solenoids pulsing open 70 rpm slip-on here for my research up to 50s the most you’re allowed it’s obviously that’s no good just gonna step on ithere again and disengage that torque converter clutch you again.

It looks a little better this time ask in here and give 200 and see what happens was slowing down a little bit now okay. I’m gonna drive fourth gear get up to 100 kilometres an hour again okay steady at 100 you can see I’ve got 137 rpm slip.

So what happened and what should you do about it?

The most common culprit involves your coolant. This liquid is responsible for cooling your car as it circulates throughout the engine. If there’s a leak somewhere in the cooling system, then all of it or a significant amount could leak out. As soon as the coolant is gone, all you’re left with is the outside air to keep that engine cool Auto Repair Software.

How quickly you experience overheating is dependent on the outside temperature and whether or not you’re moving with air running through the engine. Regardless, the engine is bound to overheat at some point. Never drive without coolant.

If there isn’t a visible coolant leak anywhere, and the problem is still coolant related, there may be a blockage somewhere. Dirt and other particles can make it into the hoses, causing a restriction or complete blockage. This creates a similar problem to all the coolant leaking out, but you’ll have to do a full coolant flush and find the blockage to fix it.

But it might not be your coolant at all. An extremely low oil level can also cause temperature issues. An engine uses oil for lubrication, and without it, friction from moving parts can create generate excess heat.

This problem is easily remedied by checking your oil frequently, especially on engines with a lot of miles on them because they tend to burn oil faster than newer engines.

A Spanner in the Works

In another scenario, it’s possible there’s broken part in the cooling system. For example, a broken water pump would cause the flow of coolant throughout the engine to stop or bad thermostat is stopping all flow of coolant throughout the OBD2 vehicle diagnostics.

The radiator is another key component of the engine’s cooling system. While leaks and clogs could be contributing to your problems, a broken fan is a more common ailment. Fans often switch on while sitting in traffic to simulate rushing air. If that fan fails, then you’ll see the temperature begin to rise while sitting in traffic or driving in extremely hot environments.

Those extreme temperatures could cause the car to overheat on its own as well. Even though most cars were designed to last in those locations, age can cause the cooling system to work at less than ideal strength.

When the Temperature Rises

When you see that red gauge rising, immediately switch off the air conditioning (if you’re running it) and turn on full heat to help lower the temperature in the engine bay. Although it won’t help your comfort level, this step could possibly save the engine.

Once you’ve adjust these controls, your best bet is to get off the road safely, turn the car off, and open the hood.

It’ll be tempting, but DO NOT check the coolant level directly after popping the hood. The radiator cap will be scalding hot and the coolant will be under extreme pressure. You’ll risk dangerous burns if you even manage to get the cap off.

Don’t ever think that the engine will be okay if your temperature gauge spikes. In the long run, you car—and your wallet—will thank you for getting off the road as soon as possible.

Be wise when you purchase a Xentry DAX Multiplexer as there seems to be a lot of cloned versions on the market. Unfortunately, there isn’t a good way to know what is original or not. Buying DAS Xentry program Diagnostic Software for Mercedes Benz on Amazon at least adds an extra layer of protection in case there is an issue. We would not recommend buying from retailers that ship from China on eBay.
