Let’s talk about what I know about XTOOL PS90, Foxwell GT80 plus, Autel MS908P, Launch X431 V 8″. What special features, what they can do, is it good investment etc.

1.The reason to vote Xtool PS90:

OK list:

– In English or German, it’s really great and there are no problems with it.
– I am using xtool ps90 is ok but the translation is poor even. Counts do the things that have a list of memory programmer works generally recommend.
– As for the PS90, I can update only in Polish and English.

I made injection programming in my Espace (2012) and everything went quickly and smoothly.

– In the VAG group in previous softkeys, it was possible to enter the option of byte options and program everything literally (as in VCDS).
– Generally, shortly after the purchase, the PS90 performed beautifully with the first versions of the softs.
– Ford quick reset is done, Nissan 20digit,Hyundai,Kia bypass are working.
– ps90 reset toyota new immobilisers using h-type chips incase all keys are lost, no 16 minute wait.

In Jaguar XJL (2014) I tried to calibrate the air suspension, unfortunately without success. (I did it with the device for 127PLN in 2 minutes).

Once the scan tool arrived in the shop, the only i need to do is to register the device on Autel’s website in order to perform updates. If you choose to not update it, you can use it out of the box within five minutes.

Autel is really good about updating their tools. It’s a tool to check for updates like once a week, because as soon as Autel comes up with solutions, they put them on the internet for our users.It is kind of cumbersome to pick and choose the updates through the Autel Scanner, without having to hook it up to a computer, as the tool is fully Wi-Fi capable. It would be nice to set a profile of vehicles that you work on, or a sort by vehicles that you need…available updates on all vehicle makes and models, including European vehicles not serviced in the U.S.

I’ve updated mine on the road. It saves me a ton of time.

Advanced & function-able:

This MS908 offers 100-percent access on the anti-theft security systems, it allows me to send reports via Wi-Fi to another computer, it comes pre-loaded with direct links to repair info (AllData, Identifix, Mitchell 1, iATN, etc.) and that it stores vehicle histories and complete customer history, which can be retrieved through VIN auto-identification.

And I have used the tool for many advanced functions, which include performing diagnostics and resets on many vehicle makes and models and even programming keys. Have used a lot of OE scan tools before. Autel lays out data the same way OE scan tools are laid out. I am familiar with this setup logic, that if technicians are not familiar with a factory menu layout, this may be difficult for some users.
Perfect in auto key programming/module coding:

I used Autel MS908to program keys on several vehicle makes including Ford, Dodge, Nissan and VW. And also used it to diagnose a faulty PCM in a 2010 Dodge Ram and faulty headlight modules on 11 5 Series BMWs. After replacing the new module, it had to be coded and he also had to run reference for the adaptive headlights. The MaxiSYS performed flawlessly.

3.The reason to vote Launch X431

How to Use the X-100 PAD

1. X-100 PAD Activation

1.1 Please activate X-100 PAD before you use it to test vehicles.

1.2. Input activation code, product serial number (each device will have a serial number and activation code), nickname (workshop’s name or user’s nickname), login account (can be your email address or cell phone number) and password, the system will then save it. Activation is a one time process. The diagnostic application will start after activation.

2. X-100 PAD Main Interface and Functional Buttons Descriptions 2.1. Main Interface
Tap on X-100 PAD application icon, the main interface and sub-menus will be shown as below.

2.2. Sub-menus and Function Buttons
Diagnosis: Open the XTOOL Diagnostic Tool X-100 PAD diagnostic application. It can read diagnostic information, view live data, perform actuation tests and special functions etc.
Diagnosis Report: Users can view all the diagnostic reports and diagnostic data generated in the diagnosis process.
Setting: Users can access the language setting and other system related settings.
Xtool Cloud: Online Communication Platform for X-100 PAD users.

3. Special Functions
After the VCI box is connected to the vehicle and paired with X-100 PAD mainframe via wired or wireless connection, diagnosis can be performed. The diagnostic interface is as shown below:

Update: after connected to the internet, you can download the latest diagnostic software directly to the X-100 PAD.

Remote Diagnosis: Users get remote assistance from Xtool Technical Assistance Center.

4. Settings
By selecting Setting users can set the language, unit and other system related options:
4.1. Languages: select the language. Please tick the required option from the multi-language options on the right.

4.2. Bluetooth:
Enter homepage to find and pair the VCI serial number with the mainframe. If it needs input the pairing password, you can input the last five numbers of the serial number. (e.g: 00005).

Select the VCI serial number and X-100 PAD will pair with it automatically when running X-100 PAD APP.

4.3. Units: Select unit of measurement. Users can select Metric or British Unit.

4.4. Device Self Test
Self-test the VCI interface. Please send X-100 PAD from www.obd2tool.com back to our factory for repair if self test fails.

5. Diagnostic Report
Provides vehicle maintenance documents including Automotive Technical Manuals, Maintenance Cases, Circuit Diagram, Common Trouble Codes, etc.

6. One Click Update
X-100 PAD updates directly via the Internet using WiFi or wired connection. To access the update application open the X-100 PAD application and click UPDATE , shown below:

8. Remote Diagnosis
If users encounter problems and are not able to solve them, they can open this application and ask for remote assistance.
How to get remote assistance from Xtool Technical Assistance Center:

a.    Open X-100 PAD
b.    Click Remote Diagnosis and open the TeamViewer interface. Generate and display device ID.
c.    Your partner will also need to download and install TeamViewer.
d.    Inform your partner of your TeamViewer ID and password to enable them to begin remote access of X-100 PAD.

Troubleshoot the BCM on the 1996 OBD2 Vettes, GM TECH2 or GM Nano?

Looking for Chinese GM Scanner to troubleshoot the BCM on the 1996 OBD2 Vettes, purpose is to cycle the ABS pump, diagnose air bag module among other things.

Budget is supposed to be around $350.00 and if it doesn’t last that long at least it’s cheaper than the thousands.

Optional GM scanner tools:

1) It says it covers most 1991 to 2013 GM cars.

I just bought one off Ebay and I am going to give it a try. I purchased it from a US seller but there are others from China. I contacted the seller and asked if it would cycle the ABS pump on a 1996 Corvette and other body control module diagnostics, he said that it would.

It does come with the 32 Mb flash card for GM. He has Saab and Isuzu cards and they are $60.00 each.

2) I have used the Tech2 Chinese I purchased for numerous ABS ,BCM as well as ECM / PCM concerns on a wide variety of GM OBD II platforms………..

As you know, the title doesn’t specify which year and model of GM, the following parts take C6, 07 2500 GMC for example.

I have my C6, 07 2500 GMC, 09 Cobalt that it will work on. Have another scan tool for our foreign cars.

Surprises were, this thing is bigger than I thought. It’s a foot tall by 6″ wide. It needs the velcro straps it comes with.

Tested it on my GMC truck and all seems fine. Connector for older OBD1 as well for 91-95,6 too. Latest software for GM 33.004.

The memory card works in either slot, I tried both although the disc says to install in upper slot. It’s a tight fight because the spring loaded door doesn’t quite open enough for the card to slide in easily. I got it in with a touch of prying. Not a big deal.

Entire purchase process was easy with no problems at all. It is a great scan tool kit for not much money. Time will tell how it holds up long term but from other members reports they are getting years out of them.

2.VXDIAG VCX Nano for GM reviews:

1) They now also have software that lets you use your laptop with the same software thats on the Tech 2 unit, it’s called a “GM Nano” ..

The Tech 2 GM Nano for the laptop is $119.00 compared to the Chinese Tech 2 clone which is around $250.00 to $300.00…..

Recently ran into an issue where i wanted to replace my aftermarket pioneer (didn’t like it and much prefer my smart phone) with a stock unit. Found a cheap OEM unit on eBay. After install, i realized that factory head units are tied to the original cars VIN. No problem, i’ll pay the dealership to fix the issue. Only problem they outright say they CANNOT guarantee they can fix the locked status of my radio and i’d still have to pay. As an IT/Network technician, i couldn’t imagine telling people i can’t guarantee i can fix your network or pc problems, but you still owe me full price plus tax.

Enter the VXDIAG VCX NANO. I was looking into clone tech II’s for the past couple weeks and stumbled onto this gem. There is very little info on this product, but i still had more faith in this thing and myself more than my own dealership so i took the plunge. For $119, i basically have the software version of a tech II device. I was able to unlock my radio in a matter of minutes. Have never used a real or upscale scan tool device so i can’t compare but just poking through some of the menus, it looks like i can do anything a tech II can. Kool thing is that the tech2win software runs just fine on my Windows 10 64bit laptop. Would be even cooler with a surface pro or similar tablet. I’m sure there are reasons for owning an actual tech II device over just software, but i wanted to try something different out of curiosity and explore other options for those that want an even cheaper alternative.

2) Using the VXdiag NANO and tech2win application, I have been able to access every tech2 function including completing a CPS variation relearn, access all abs and airbag troubleshooting functions on my ’99 C5 corvette. I have also been able to access Service Programming System functions using TIS2000 and the vxdiag nano to update the PCM. This is very promising because of the price in comparison to a tech2 clone.

The catch? I don’t think it will work on all GM vehicles. When attempting to interface with my ’97 camaro, I was unable to access the ABS or airbag functions of the tech2, receiving a communications error. I guess my camaro is still old enough where the abs and airbag functions are performed over the OBD1 data bus (although it has an obd2 connector). However, I was able to carry out programming using the tis2000 application and access transmission and drivetrain functions.

How to make the connection between the VCX Nano and the computer:

You plug the device into the OBD2 port, and then you either use Wifi back to the laptop to connect that way ($119), or you can use a usb cable instead ($109).

Conclusion:  

A used Tech 2 original depends on your budget.

GM Tech2 Chinese is verified been working as a real one for many years, google and you will search many good reviews.

GM VXDiag Nano, based on windows, is verified working fine too and sales at cheap price, the users are supposed to have skills to install the driver, but it’s okay if you follow the video and instruction.

If you are in the market for a tech2 for your MB Star C5 corvette, I think you should not purchase a tech2 clone. Instead, go for the GM MDI clone, or maybe the vxdiag nano if you are willing to risk the fact it seems to be hit or miss depending on the vehicle(s) you plan to interface with.

One other thing to note, if you are intending to do programming, the TIS2000 application has not been updated by GM since 2008. Instead, they now use an alternative online based application called ’tis2web’. While TIS2web has been cracked for the european export GM vehicles, it has not yet been cracked for north american operation GM vehicles. As a result, if you are using a newer vehicle for programming, you will really need to purchase a 3 day subscription to tis2web.
