How to install and activate JLR mangoose SDD V154 software?

Step 1: Install setup

Open software CD


Copy and paste SDD Patch, DFStd, and Professional Diagnostic Tools JLR Driver zip files to desktop. Extract 3 zip files to desktop

Open SDD 154_FULL setup


Select setup language

Install shield wizard for SDD-154.00

Click on Next

Accept all license agreements


Choose installation destination

Click on Next

Click on Install


Enable ActiveCGM to be the default TIF viewer


Install HV Safety installer setup

Install DSS installer application


Install MOXA UPort Windows Driver setup wizard


Wait until 154.00 software installation complete. The procedure usually takes 30 minutes to 1 hour.


Installation complete. Restart computer.

Back to software CD


Open SDD 154.01 setup


Wait until this setup installation complete. Wait for 30 minutes around


Then restart computer again

Step 2: Activate JLR SDD V154 software

Extract SDD Patch zip file on desktop, then open SDD patch folder



Open SDD, it prompts OK message. You need to activate software.

Open SDD Notepad


Copy and paste user name and password

Open  JLR SDD software on desktop

Accept Windows alarm


SDD display error Network Connection Not Detected

Click on Continue

Paste and Copy the User name and password in notepad to User Authentication interface

Click on Identify



Complete user information



Exit SDD software

Step 3: Install software driver

Delete SDD Patch zip file, folder and Navigation Programs Installer to Recycle Bin


Extract DFStd and JLR Driver zip files to desktop


Connect JLR Mangoose cable with laptop

Auto search driver

Open JLR Driver folder->JLR Driver->install MongoosePro_JLR driver


(There are also driver for DA-VINA J2534, VCM JLR, VXDIAG VCX NANO JLR, wiScan T6 etc JLR interfaces. Different interfaces uses different drivers)


Complete install driver setup


Mangoose JLR J2534 interface Driver software installed successfully


Open Computer->Manager->Device Manager->Vehicle Pass-Thru Interface->MongoosePro JLR J2534 interface to check the device is well connected

Step 4: Run SDD V154 software

Connect JLR Mangoose cable with vehicle

Open JLR SDD software on desktop


Auto detect VIN

Read vehicle information


Start New Section ->Diagnostic

Check DTCs



Quit Software

Step 5: Install Deep Freeze software


Open DFStdc notepad on desktop, paste the key

Then open DFStd application


Click on Next to install Deep Freeze software

Accept license agreement


Paste license key from notepad here


Select destination folder

Click on Install


After installation complete. Restart the computer.

All completed. Now you can use SDD V154 software.

1. Obd2 Scanner

Unlike the earlier, OBD-I system, the Professional Diagnostic Tool uses the same code designations, communication protocols, and connectors for cars made by all major manufacturers. 2. Ignition Tester

Also known as a spark tester, this tool is absolutely indispensable for anything that relies on spark plugs- that means your car. Any time an engine won’t start, it’s possible that the reason is that there is no spark coming from the spark plug to get the engine started. An ignition tester allows you to diagnose the problem so that you don’t go all around your car solving every other problem whether you need to or not.

3. Airbag Tester

As you can imagine, it could be quite problematic to have a non-functional air bag and not know about it until the moment you need it. And naturally, testing your airbag by whacking your bumper with a rubber mallet is not ideal. Fortunately, there is a tool that can tell you whether or not all of the electronic components of your airbag system are working correctly without setting the safety device off.

4. Fuel Pressure Tester

Like a problem with your spark plug, a problem with low fuel pressure can cause your car or truck to fail to start- and if you can’t diagnose the problem directly, then you may have to work on several different things before finally finding the problem. A fuel pressure tester tells you where your vehicle’s fuel pressure is at, whether it’s too high or two low, enabling you to solve the problem straight away.

5. Timing Lights

A timing light is a special automotive stroboscope that mechanics use to set the ignition timing of internal combustion engines that are equipped with a distributor. Modern vehicle engines require timing lights to scan ignition timing accurately so that the timing can be adjusted to the optimal range for your vehicle.
6. Emission Analyzer

In most states, drivers are required to have their vehicles checked for proper exhaust emissions before the vehicle can be tagged and allowed to drive legally on public roads. Even if you are fortunate enough to live in a part of the country where vehicle emissions are not regulated, it still might be good for your conscience to have your emissions tested and adjusted accordingly. These devices are inserted into the exhaust pipe and, in addition to checking your emissions- they can also be used to diagnose a whole host of problems. It can also play an important role in certain safety checks, help with engine tuning, and certain kinds of repairs.

7. Vacuum Tester

A vacuum test is among the simplest diagnostic tools a mechanic can have. With a simple gauge, anyone can gain valuable insight into vacuum leaks, low compression, incorrect timing, and sticking valves just to name a few. You will need to know the vacuum specifications for your engine, and bear in mind that these gauges are adjusted for sea level. That means for every 1,000 feet your location is above sea level, you will need to subtract an inch of vacuum. The simplest check to perform is a running vacuum test. Simply start the engine and let it reach normal operating temperature. Find a vacuum port and connect the gauge. The Car Scanner should be on the manifold or below the carburetor. It shouldn’t be on the air cleaner, high on top of the carburetor, or on any of the emissions control components.

What is Cummins INSITE Fault Codes:

Fault codes are Cummins way of letting you know that your engine has a problem. Every sensor and circuit on your engine has a certain expected reading and voltage signal. These signals are monitored constantly by the Cummins ECM. If values rise above or below expected, the ECM will log a code.

If the error has occurred but is not happening at the time of diagnostics, it is known as an Inactive Fault. If the error is happening while you diagnose, it is known as an Active Fault.

All codes can be classified as either Active or Inactive, and their status can be determined by flash codes or through the Insite Electronic Service Tool.

How to do VWAudi Component Protection with ODIS software

What is Component Protection:

Component protection is VWAG’s (VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Bentley, Lamborghini) way of eliminating vehicle or component theft by keeping track of each individual component and which vehicle it’s assigned too from the assembly line.

Why do you need to do component protection:

When a component protected module is fitted to its non-original vehicle, many, if not all of its functions will be limited. This is to try and prevent the use of stolen parts in the second-hand market. If a VWAG vehicle is reported stolen, a flag will be raised with their database for the vehicle’s VIN and the internal serial number/coding of each module fitted to said vehicle, such as an Engine or transmission ECU, Infotainment/Radio unit or AC/Heater control panel) making it impossible for these parts to be used on another vehicle. This will raise an error within our diagnosis system (connected to VWAG’s servers) when trying to remove the component protection and not allow the technician to proceed, alerting VWAG to the use of stolen parts.

Component protection also applies to any brand-new parts purchased and fitted. It would need to be removed before the technician could proceed with and coding, adaptions, or basic settings or said component.

What to do for component protection?

The only way to remove component protection is to take the car to a VWAG specialist with the online diagnosis system (ODIS) or the main dealer themselves.
We have invested heavily in obtaining the credentials and correct system, to be able to provide such services so you don’t have to have the huge cost of a trip to the dealer.

Here are views of popular Heavy Duty Truck diagnostic Scanner or adapters, including pros & cons and tips & tricks.

DG Tech DPA4 or 4+ or DPA5: #2 Choice Metal case makes it durable (must use original USB cable to take advantage of USB port protection)

DPA5 is better than the DPA4+ in that it supports OBD2 Scanner protocols other than J1850VPW and CAN, it also has the long range bluetooth and comes with a bluetooth dongle for your PC.  It has a metal case, rubber shock caps, secure USB and long diagnostic cables unlike the 6″ Nexiq cables.  It is dual CAN, has a large buffer and works well with any application.

NEXIQ USB Link: #1 Choice can also be used with toyota techstream and isuzu IDSS (Must be very careful to not break the usb port on older style)

Having ever used the Nexiq USB Link or Nexiq USB Link 2, I can’t say I really prefer it so much as until fairly recently I didn’t even know there was so many other options as those two are almost the entirety of what I ever see.  Only after recently purchasing a Nexiq USB Link 2 did I begin to realize that so much else (aside from OEM ‘boxes’) was even available.

So far I’m still pleased with the Link 2, but had I done a bit more digging prior to buying it I certainly would have compared it to the DPA5 and might have gone that route just given what I’ve found out about them so far.

About the only complaints I have with the Link 2 so far are the increased price of the adapter cables vs the original (or even other current models) and that connecting via Bluetooth is quite the chore for some reason compared to other (in general) devices.  Given how long the USB cable is though, I’m not terribly concerned with the Bluetooth connectivity.

This is just my opinion on the adapters above based on personal use.  There are other adapters available and other peoples results/opinions may differ.

How to Install and Setup Nexiq USB Link 2

NEXIQ USB Link 2 Installation Process Outline:

Step 1: Install the USB-Link? 2 drivers and the Device Tester (pg. 9).

Step 2: Choose your connection (wired or wireless) (pg. 24).

If you chose a wired connection, move on to complete steps 4 and 6

Step 3: Install the drivers for the Bluetooth? adapter you are using.

Depending on the Bluetooth? adapter you have selected, you may also
need to configure the Bluetooth? environment (see Configure the Bluetooth
Environment on page 26 of this chapter).

Step 4: Connect the Heavy Duty Scanner USB-Link? 2 to the vehicle.

Steps 4 through 6 are described in Chapter 3 of this manual.

How to use Yanhua ACDP add new key for Land Rover KVM MC9S12XEQ384_3M25J?

Follow the guide to connect Yanhua ACDP basic module and Land Rover KVM module.

In the left rear of the car, open the plaque, see the fuse box, remove the fuse box and see the RAF smart computer
