CATERPILLAR CAT ET SIS FEATURES :
Allows communication between service tools and engine controls using various data links such as J1939/11, DeviceNet (future release), Caterpillar  DataLink, and J1708 (ATA) vehicle networks;

Honda Horn Not Working Diagnostic Advice

Having a working horn is important for rather obvious safety reasons. If your horn is not working, performing some diagnostic tests Honda Key Programming tool could help you find the problem and get you on the road to fixing it.

Step 1: Check the Fuses

Go into the power center or fuse box and check for blown fuses. Your Honda manual will have a diagram of where to find the fuse box or power center. It will also tell you exactly which fuse connects to the horns. A blown fuse will have a broken filament. If there is no sign of a blown fuse, let’s move on to check other parts of the car for signs of a circuit short.

 
Step 2: Try and Identify Electrical Shorts

The best places to check for circuit shorts and breaks are the horns, the battery, and the relay. Test the continuity between all of these to make sure all parts are working. Any faulty wiring, fuses, and relays should be replaced as needed.

Step 3: Check the Horn Itself

From there, we need to check the functionality of the horn buttons on the steering wheel. To do this, you will need to disassemble the steering wheel column. Be aware that this may cause the air bags to go off automatically. You will find the relay behind the air bag or somewhere in the area surrounding the air bag. Test continuity here to check for wiring communication problems.

Step 4: Direct Test

You can also directly test the horns themselves, though the Key Programming is rarely the problem. Check your car manual for procedures of how to do this. Many cars will allow you to connect two wires from the battery terminal to the horns. However, it is better to follow specific procedures laid out by Honda as every vehicle is different.

If you are still unable to find the source of your horn woes, it is time to take it to a mechanic. Fortunately, these problems are not labor-intensive and can usually be completed within a few hours

eCom – laboratory\development tool. Most cheap and light. Can’t be used with DAS\HHT vehicles. Does not support kline communication. Need to be specially setup on any diag sw installation.

SDConnect C4– workshop\robust tool. Most universal in use. The only limitation is kline communication in Vediamo from ver5* Easy to setup. In most cases work as is. As for China clones, SDconnect has the best PCB design, the winner.

Stardiagnos Connect – workshop\robust tool. Very big and heavy. Most expensive. Similar to SDConnect because it is like PC+multiplexer in one housing .Has very specific setup as update blue ray disk has not installer but full HDD image with OS + user application. Complicated in installing additional software as you do not have direct assess to operating system.

A lot of info I found over at SaabCentral but it is just a giant thread to read through although a lot of the info is on the first page. And a lot doesn’t apply since it’s geared towards Saab (even the 9-7x doesn’t apply, it’s under GM).

So you have a Tech2 scan tool but a lot of the things you would like to do is locked out because you don’t have access to the computer software to allow you to do it. Things like updating PCM’s and modules and anything security related are locked out. If you bought one of the Tech2 clones, it probably came with a CD with the Tis2000 software. If you install it and try to use it, it says that it can’t find the USB security dongle or something like that. That’s because only dealers have those or a clone of one wasn’t included.

First of all, this is old software. It was discontinued in 2008 by GM which means that it works only for vehicles up to model year 2007. It will have PCM and module updates included. For example, I was able to update all of the modules and PCM in my 2006 9-7x even though it had only been a year or two since production and issue of this software. It will also allow you to reprogram a module that you are replacing.

The Tech2 communicates with the computer using a serial port on the computer running Windows XP SP3. This can be a problem if you only have newer computers. Best and easiest scenario is to use an older laptop computer that has a serial port running windows XP. In my setup, I used an old IBM T40 laptop, which is fairly decent processor wise, installed a fresh copy of Windows XP SP3 and used a docking station with it that has a serial port. Laptops that have actual serial ports built in are probably so old that they are too slow or have age and reliability issues. Another solution would be to get a USB to serial port adapter and specify the proper COM port number during the install of Tis2000.

Another possible solution would be to use a virtual environment on a host computer. VMWare is free to use and it has been done from what I read but could be a fairly involved process because of the serial port issue, especially when using a USB to serial adapter. The challenge of communicating from the virtual environment through the real computer’s hardware ports can make it difficult but can be done. I’m not going to discuss this type of installation but the basic software installation and use will be the same. If anyone gets a virtual install working, please post it up.

In some detail, this is what I did. Keep in mind that you should have some computer knowledge and know how to install Windows.

1.Installed a fresh copy of Windows XP SP3. I didn’t bother with updating anything else as far as security updates to Windows or install a virus scan because this computer will never be connected to the Internet or used for anything else.

2.Installed ALL the required drivers until there were no more yellow check marks in Device Manager. I failed to do this at first and caused a lot of headaches later, including a BSOD during software installation.

If you’re using a USB to serial adapter, plug it in now and set it up. Go into Device Manager and make note of the COM port used by the adapter.

3.Install the Professional Diagnostic Tool Tis2000 software from the CD included with the Tech2. During the install, it will ask you to specify the COM port. If you have a serial port on the computer, it’s probably COM 1 or use the one from the USB adapter.

4.Before you can use Tis2000 with your Tech2, you have to make it “think” that there is a dongle connected that authorizes it. You can download the crack below. Follow the read me file for instructions on how to use it.

First, I tested on a 2003 PT Cruiser.

Basically no other modules other than the Engine, work. I cannot connect to the transmission, ABS, VTSS, SKIM, radio, cluster, etc. But everything in the engine module can be tested, actuated, etc.Luckily for me, I really only needed the DRBIII to write the Pinion factor for manual transmissions, which is conveniently in the ‘engine’ part which works.Maybe I really need to invest in an older VCI pod so that everything else works.

Then, I also tested it on a 2010 Charger under witech and works flawlessly, and got a 2004 Dodge pickup and under the emulator worked perfectly.

Edit to update:

I already called my locksmith, who drives an 04 Sprinter to try it as well.So I had a chance to test my Micropod II with not only wiTECH but also the Auto Scanner Tool DRBIII enhanced emulator. Both work good!

SKP900 Server No communication No More Token Solution

Problem:

I can no longer add tokens to my skp900 as they have locked the server. I tried to add tokens on a SKP900 Key Programmer , tried multiple connection and different laptop , it says Server no communication.

Heard there is a way to upgrade to V5.0 but you need at least one token left. I ran out of token there is also a way around but I cant find it anywhere. Is anyone aware of this and can help me get back my skp900 with tokens… Thanks.

Solution:

First of all, yes, SuperOBD SKP900 service is down and no more update/add token, so don’t expect they release a token free version V5.0.1.

If you fail to add token, the first step is update your SKP900 to latest version 5.0 (very important !!!).

Then, if your device still have more than 0 tokens, download the file V5.0 ALL and V5.0 Little file containing SKP900 Update tool v2.5 and UpdateNew.bin

Use the V5.0 Little File in this zip to flash your device, then it will be token free. Note it has to be V5.0 version.
