MaxiSys Elite Scanner on Ford Escape Idle Issue

In this article we are going to be looking at a idle issue where the otter will go up and down. if you’re at a stoplight or a stop sign, this is an intermittent problem. so It doesn’t do it all the time, so I thought what we can start off we would maybe look at some data of Maxisys Elite here.

ELITE-1
ELITE-2
ELITE-3

Now I’ve already looked at this vehicle in the past for an AC problem, I’ve already taken care of that. So it turns out that was only a is see nothing out of the ordinary. Let’s go out of this and let’s see what we can do.

ELITE-4
ELITE-5

Maybe we can control that outer layer and see what kind of tests we got in here bi-directional control okay so we got I don’t air control one.  I don’t have control to that if you remember this one was given us a percentage. I mean the amperage and this one over here was given us the percentage. well. let’s get both of them all right let’s go back.  Because I want to get the other one too.

ELITE-6
ELITE-7
ELITE-8

So I want that one that’s a guess that if multiplied is not well. we do want some data. Let me do this I’m going to go back.  I think what I want to do instead of looking at the amperage. Let’s look at the percentage. Now let’s get the desired.  I’m looking for the RPM now. He’s at rpm to see what that’d give us okay. So we have our desired rpm here this is what the engine is doing let’s crank it up.
ELITE-9
ELITE-10
ELITE-11

I don’t know if this is the software doing that, but you can see that this here is staying the same if we look up here, It looks like this going up. So right up here, you can see us 55 45 so he’s trying to climb up a little bit even though this is staying at the same here.  I mean I can’t see anything out of the Autel Scan Tool here,  I think what I’m going to do is we’re going to take a look closer look at this final air control ground even though we can’t see anything like it just jumps out at us .
ELITE-12
ELITE-13 ELITE-14

I just want to kind of show the skin tooled a little bit look at a little it of data. let’s see what this Car Diagnostic Tool will had to offer,  Like I said it’s all new to me. Also it looks like it yep anyway just watching the RPM on this thing. So I think what we do is we’re going to wrap this one up and we going to take and let me just get out of there and yes we will.  Then we’ll go back to on the screen.

What do you think about that Autel Maxisys Elite?

2-1

Thinking about trading my modis ultra for an Autel Maxisys Elite. What do you think about that?

Reason being the shop I work at has a Very Edge and with my Modis it’s kind of redundant. Sometimes the SO won’t do what I need so I’m thinking the Autel might fill some of those holes. And if the Autel won’t do it I can use the shop Verus. Plus the updates are cheaper and I’d like to be able to print from the scanner without having to transfer to my computer first.

Review by Moderator:

I’m glad you brought this up, as I’ve had the exact same thought. I think the Autel would definitely fill some gaps in the Snap-On coverage. The wireless adapter is always nice. The two years of free updates is tempting. That’s about $2,000 worth of software on the Snap-On truck, if you’re buying every update.

What scanner do you have Tyler? I think I’ve about talked myself out of switching brands. You really kinda need both. SO seems to have more reliable PIDs and if it lists a test or function, it works. Not always the case with Autel. I’m gonna price it out with AESwave anyway, but I think it’s around $3500 but comes with 2 years of updates.

SO rep told me yesterday they had a buy 17.4 and get 18.2 free. I said that’s not really a deal is it. He looked at me funny and I said “well 18.2 is about to come out” It comes out in April.lol .

Reply by Moderator:

I have a Modis Ultra, and the shop has an Autel Scan Tool MaxiSys. It’s like you said, you really need to have both. Too many gaps in the SO coverage to rely on it exclusively, and I can’t stand how the Autel displays data. :silly: Autel is far better with Euro makes, as well, IMO.

I see the Elite going for around $2400 on OBD2TOOL? On other retailers, anyway. I figure AESwave would be close.

The Modis has 17.2 now, and I’m seriously considering letting it lapse.

The review for the MS-906

I wanted to write this review to hopefully help some others out there. One thing that I really wanted the ability to do is program keys. I could not find any good hard information that this was supposed to program keys. Because of this, I was leaning towards the older DS-708. I decided to give Autel US a call and gather some information.

2-1

They told me that the Autel MaxiSYS MS906 was the replacement for the DS-708, but the DS-708 was end of life. They said if you buy a used one, and something happens to the card, then it will essentially be a brick if you don’t have a backup. They also told me that the MS-906 would not program keys and that I had to get the pro version that was quite a bit more expensive. This did not make sense to me because if the MS-906 replaced the DS-708, it should do everything that the DS-708 does.

I ended up messaging the seller on OBD2TOOL. and he told me that it would not as well. I figured I would order it and I could always return it. Turns out, the MS-906 DOES program keys! I’m very impressed with the scanner. Comparing it to an older Snap-On Solus, it blows it out of the water! The graphing is nice, has a TON of features!

I am very happy with my purchase. Your 1 year worth of updates starts from the time that you register the Autel Scanner. The problem is, you HAVE to register it before you can use it all. Therefore if your plan was like mine and to use it for 2 years or so, then register it to get the free year worth of updates, then that will NOT work.

Answered by Ron Jon:
It’s the US version and I to had the same concerns but bought it. I’ve had to call the tech support one time and I had very good results. It is Us support. Trust me you won’t regret this purchase. I can almost do anything the dealers can do . I’ve already paid for mine since I can program now

Answered by Herbert Brown:
The US version. All operations and functions I have used on the Elite were English.
Good product, I have already used the Autel Maxisys Elite on 5 different cars from 3 different manufacturers (BMW, Nissan and Cadillac). Was able to simplify my troubleshooting with this tool.
Well worth the purchase if you plan on working on multiple cars

3.What different between autel maxisys elite diagnostic tool maxisys 908cv

Dear sir, the ms908cv can diagnose and perform ecu programming and coding on 24V heavy duty trucks, the maxisys elite is for gasoline and 12V vehicles , please be informed.

4.What make of vehicles can this scanner work on?

sir, Autel Scanner can do it on most cars of America, Europe and Asia, but if you want to make confirmation just tell us the car model, year and VIN, we will have a check and tell u the result.

5.Do you get free updates

you get updates for a year after that you can pay autel for the updates but are not required for the scanner to keep working. I have a Maxisys Pro for about 2 years and after the 1 year updates were over It still works like a charm. on the updates that they add like language support fix bugs or add tests or functions that were missing.

6.Does is have live data and live graphing for abs and crank/cam sensors etc.

Sure, of course, the most powerful function is it can do ECU coding and programming on BWM,BENZ, and many other powerful special function

Depending on the Vehicle I have been able to see the live data and Graphs for both ABS and cam/crank sensors. The only vehicle I have had a problem with is a Nissan GTR. But for all other vehicles I have had no problems.

Who Autel Maxisys MS906 Scanner Is For

No doubt, its not a gadget to keep at home and show-off. Its designed for the professionals and repairing shops. More precisely, for large rebuilding houses.

The price of the product is quite high and even small vehicle garages will find it hard to afford.

It is intended for mid-scale or large-scale service providers.

It can diagnose tens of vehicles per hour depending on your activeness.

I admit MaxiSYS 906 is costly but comparing to the value it provides; I must say it a reasonably priced product. Moreover, don’t consider it as an expense but an investment as it can cut the time for closing a deal by half. That only means more business for you but with lesser stress.
